PARAMETERS THAT MUST BE PROJECT-SPECIFIC

Do not compare an undefined promise.

01

MOQ

Prototype, small batch and store program are quoted separately.

02

Dimensions

Overall size, usable space and access clearances require approved drawings.

03

Price

Configuration, quantity, currency, validity and exclusions must share one basis.

04

Lead time

The quotation must name the approval and payment conditions that start timing.

05

Inspection

Acceptance criteria, coverage and corrective action follow the released specification.

06

Delivery

Incoterm, named place, customs, unloading and installation responsibilities stay visible.

COMPLETE BUYER QUESTION INDEX

Follow the purchasing decision, not a sales script.

Every answer states what to confirm, which evidence reduces risk and where to continue the purchasing review.

01

Verify the supplier

Establish who designs, manufactures, inspects and accepts responsibility before money or confidential information changes hands.

Q01Where should I look for a Chinese display-cabinet supplier?

Build a shortlist from manufacturer websites, B2B platforms and exhibition directories. Give every candidate the same project brief, then verify actual production, quality-control and delivery responsibility before ordering.

First-time buyerProcurement team
Q02How can I check whether a showcase supplier owns its factory?

Check the contracting company, production address and the processes performed at that site. Use a dated live walkthrough or site audit to establish who manufactures, inspects and takes responsibility for the order.

All buyersFactory audit
Q03Can buyers inspect the factory before placing an order?

Arrange the visit around the processes relevant to your order: fabrication, assembly, inspection and packing. Confirm access, timing and confidentiality requirements, or request a live remote walkthrough when travel is impractical.

Procurement teamOverseas buyer
Q04Can you show relevant completed retail projects?

Review delivered projects with similar merchandise and store formats. Separate concepts, prototypes, factory trial assemblies and installed stores, and confirm which parts of each project the supplier actually delivered.

Store ownerBrand team
Q21How can I follow production progress from overseas?

Agree updates tied to the order, drawing revision and fixture reference. Dated photos should support a milestone record that also lists approvals, changes, delays and open buyer decisions.

Overseas buyerRollout team
Q23May I appoint an independent pre-shipment inspector?

Agree independent inspection before contracting, including access, scope, fees, notice period and corrective action. Schedule it before shipment release so findings can still affect the goods.

Procurement teamLarge order
02

Define design and quotation

Give every bidder the same measurable brief so scope, assumptions and exclusions can be compared.

Q05Will a Chinese showcase factory accept a small order?

There is no universal minimum order. Ask separately about one prototype, a small batch and a complete-store program. The accepted quantity and unit cost depend on the structure, materials, tooling and production setup and must be confirmed in the quotation.

Small buyerPrototypeSingle store
Q06Can display cabinets be made to my store dimensions?

Provide measured site dimensions and merchandise sizes. Approve overall dimensions, clear display space, door and drawer clearances, aisle effects and delivery access before production. A reference image is not a dimensioned specification.

Single storeCustom project
Q07Can I review a 3D store concept before manufacturing?

Use a 3D concept to review appearance and merchandising direction, then approve technical drawings, material samples and critical details separately. Confirm design fees, revision limits and deliverables before work begins.

Store ownerBrand team
Q08What information should I send for a cabinet quotation?

Send fixture types and quantities, dimensions or a floor plan, material and lighting direction, destination and target arrival date. If information is missing, a preliminary estimate should identify every assumption.

All buyersRFQ preparation
Q09Is there a fixed price list for custom showcases?

A custom-fixture price is meaningful only with a defined specification and quantity. Any indicative price must state dimensions, configuration, currency, validity and exclusions such as freight, tax and installation.

Budget planningProcurement team
Q10Which specifications affect the price of a display cabinet?

Compare dimensions, material grades and thicknesses, finish, glass or acrylic, hardware, lighting, quantity, sampling and packing on one basis. Keep freight and installation visible so a low unit price does not hide a different scope.

All buyersQuotation comparison
03

Specify product and materials

Translate appearance into usable dimensions, access, materials, lighting, branding and engineering evidence.

Q13What acrylic thickness is suitable for my display case?

Select thickness for the panel span, supports, joints and load. A protective cover and a load-bearing shelf perform different jobs, so the drawing and an appropriate test—not thickness alone—must confirm suitability.

Small buyerProduct engineer
Q14Will acrylic protect displayed collectibles from UV?

UV stability does not prove UV filtering. Request the exact sheet grade and wavelength-specific transmission data before making a protection claim. Without test evidence, do not assume “99% UV protection” or permanent fade prevention.

Collector retailSpecification team
Q15Which material and compliance documents can you provide?

Match documents to the destination, actual material, product construction and batch. For regulated composite wood entering the United States, check the applicable TSCA Title VI requirements and traceability; “eco-friendly board” is not a complete compliance record.

Compliance teamUS buyer
Q16Can showcases carry our logo and brand graphics?

Specify artwork size, color, illumination, viewing distance and replacement frequency before selecting the production method. Approve a proof or physical sample for placement and appearance before batch application.

Brand teamRollout program
Q17Can cabinets have lockable doors and storage?

Specify access control around merchandise value and staff workflow. Agree door type, hardware and key management, and do not treat a standard lockable showcase as a security safe.

Premium collectiblesStore operations
Q18How will cabinet lighting match my local electrical supply?

Provide destination voltage, frequency, earthing and connection requirements. Verify drivers, connectors, wiring, heat management and service access as a complete configuration rather than relying on one component label.

International buyerElectrical review
04

Control quality and timing

Connect samples, inspections, approvals, payment milestones and schedule triggers to the same released specification.

Q11Can I approve a prototype before ordering the full batch?

Choose a material sample, critical assembly or full prototype according to project risk. Agree cost, timing, freight, revision rules and whether the approved sample becomes the production acceptance reference.

Small buyerLarge batchRollout
Q12What should I inspect when a display-case sample arrives?

Test fit with real merchandise, clear dimensions, viewing quality, surface condition, joints and hardware. For commercial cabinets, also verify repeated access, lighting operation and the specified load condition.

Small buyerQuality team
Q19How long will manufacturing my showcases take?

Timing depends on the approved design, quantity, material availability and production capacity. The quotation must state whether timing begins after deposit clearance, drawing approval, sample approval or all listed conditions, and whether days are working or calendar days.

All buyersOpening-date project
Q20How much time should I allow from design to store opening?

Plan design, sampling, manufacturing, inspection, transport, customs and site work as separate stages. Work backwards from opening and include decision and logistics buffers; factory completion is not store delivery or opening readiness.

Store ownerProject manager
Q22What quality checks happen before shipment?

Inspect quantity, critical dimensions, appearance, doors, drawers, locks, lighting, assembly and packing against the approved specification. Define full or sampled coverage and how nonconforming items are corrected and rechecked.

Quality teamAll order sizes
Q24Which payment methods and milestones are available?

Confirm currency, payment method, beneficiary, deposit and balance milestones, fees and change handling in the quotation. Verify that the receiving account matches the contracting entity or has documented authorization.

All buyersFinance team
05

Plan delivery and after-sales

Separate packing, freight, customs, unloading, installation and claims responsibilities before dispatch.

Q25What determines international freight charges?

Request freight using packed piece count, dimensions, gross weight, route, transport mode and service scope. Identify origin and destination charges and confirm whether clearance, final delivery and unloading are included.

International buyerLogistics team
Q26Should I use my own freight forwarder or the supplier's?

Compare both options using the same packing list and destination. Assess total cost, customs scope, tracking and claims handling. Supplier-arranged freight does not automatically mean duties, final delivery or unloading are included.

International buyerProcurement team
Q27Does duty-paid delivery include customs, taxes and unloading?

Under Incoterms 2020 DDP, the seller handles import clearance and duties and delivers ready for unloading at the named destination. The buyer normally unloads. Store access, upper-floor handling and installation must be addressed separately.

International buyerContract review
Q28How are glass showcases protected for export?

Plan glass separation, edge protection, internal restraint, surface protection and safe handling. Select assembled or knock-down packing with the destination installation capability. Packaging reduces risk but cannot guarantee zero damage.

International buyerGlass fixture project
Q29How will I assemble and install the cabinets after delivery?

Confirm whether fixtures arrive assembled, semi-assembled or knock-down. Request coded drawings, hardware lists and instructions, and separate positioning, fixing, electrical work and remote or on-site support in the installation scope.

Store ownerInstallation team
Q30What support is available if a cabinet arrives damaged or later fails?

Record damage with packaging, labels and product evidence. Treat transit damage, manufacturing defects and normal wear separately, and agree reporting deadlines, warranty scope, parts, labor and replacement freight before shipment.
